Hello Folks,On Wed Mar 05, we had with us Goran Ostojic, Managing Principal, Integral Group and BC ASHRAE student chair Branislav. Goran gave an incredible presentation on the design of Millennium water building (used by 2010 Vancouver Olympics athletes) giving us insights on evacuated solar tubes, radiant heating and cooling through capillary mat, active and passive systems, glazing performance, facade design, energy quality, Sewer heat recovery (water to water heat pumps), rain water harvesting design and real time energy usage tracking concept used in the Millennium water building. UBC-ASHRAE is planning to have a tour to Hillcrest Community Centre in the end of March. The date have not been confirmed by the engineers at Hillcrest. We will inform you as soon as we get a confirmation.
